Performance: Two simple engine choices
When you shop for the new Buick Encore GX you’ll get two engine options. The base is a 1.2-liter turbo-charged three-cylinder with 137 horsepower. The slightly larger 1.3-liter three is also turbo-charged and gives you 155 horsepower. You'll have your choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with a 9-speed automatic. The 1.3-liter engine is especially helpful when you're on a long road trip and need to pass slower traffic ahead.
Fuel economy: Getting up to 32 mpg is simple
If you go with the base engine, the Buick Encore GX gives you an estimated 29 miles with every gallon in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. Surprisingly enough, the more powerful engine gets even better gas mileage when it's paired with front-wheel drive. Those numbers are 29 MPG on city streets and a gratifying 32 MPG when you're on the highway. With all-wheel drive, the numbers drop just a little to 26/29 MPG city/highway.
Infotainment: Simple pleasures
